Collector's Corner: Nikki Sixx — Stage-Used & Signed Bass Guitar

Welcome back to Collector's Corner, where I share some of the most prized pieces from my personal collection. Today's feature is without question one of my all-time favorites — a stage-used and autographed bass guitar belonging to none other than Nikki Sixx of Mötley Crüe.

The Guitar

This isn't just a signed guitar. This is a bass that Nikki Sixx actually played on stage during a stop in Tulsa, Oklahoma — and the story behind how I got it makes it even more special.

My brother Josh and I were fortunate enough to be backstage with Nikki after the show. And I mean just us — it was an incredibly intimate moment. We spent about 25 minutes with him, and Nikki was in full storytelling mode, sharing some genuinely amazing behind-the-scenes stories. No rush, no entourage chaos — just a rock legend being completely present and generous with his time.

During that time, Nikki was kind enough to sign somewhere between 10 and 12 items for me — an incredibly generous gesture that I will never forget. But out of everything he signed that night, it's what he added to this bass that makes it the crown jewel of the collection. He drew a self-portrait of himself right on the back of the guitar — a personal touch that elevates this from a collectible to a true piece of rock and roll art.

Meeting Nikki — Four Times Over 30 Years

I've been lucky enough to meet Nikki Sixx four times over the past 30 years, and every single time, he has been one of the nicest, most genuine guys you could ever hope to encounter. That says a lot about a man who has lived one of the most legendary lives in rock history. He never makes you feel like just another fan — he makes you feel like you're part of the story.

Is It for Sale?

I want to be upfront — most items I feature in Collector's Corner will be available for purchase. But not this one. This guitar isn't going anywhere. Some things are simply beyond price.

A Bonus Piece

As a little bonus tidbit — I also own one of Nikki's autographed hats from the same era. Another incredible piece that I'll be sharing in a future post.
