What It Takes to Be a Realtor With The Agency Oklahoma
Not every real estate company is built for every Realtor—and The Agency Oklahoma was never intended to be.
At many traditional brokerages, growth is measured by headcount. The focus is on recruiting as many agents as possible, filling offices with licensees and creating incentives for those agents to recruit even more people.
That is not our model.
We do not offer profit sharing as an incentive to recruit every person with a pulse. We are not building a downline, and we are not trying to fill our offices with hundreds of agents simply so we can say we are the largest.
We are here to sell real estate. Period.
At The Agency Oklahoma, our philosophy is simple: quality over quantity.
We are building a selective, boutique real estate company composed of experienced, full-time professionals who are exceptional at their jobs and even better in the way they treat people. We are interested in productivity, professionalism, relationships and results—not headcount.
Joining The Agency Oklahoma is not simply about transferring a real estate license. It is about earning a place within a culture and accepting the responsibility that comes with representing one of the world’s most recognized luxury real estate brands.
We Are Not Trying to Be the Largest
The Agency was founded to challenge the traditional brokerage model. It was built around collaboration, innovation, sophisticated marketing and exceptional client service.
The goal has never been to become the largest real estate company. The goal is to become the best.
That same standard defines The Agency Oklahoma City and Tulsa.
We will never be a brokerage filled with hundreds of part-time Realtors whose names and businesses we barely know. Our agents are not numbers on a recruiting spreadsheet. They are trusted representatives of our clients, offices, communities and brand.
We deliberately maintain a selective environment where leadership knows its agents, agents know one another and clients receive a consistent level of service.
Growth matters, but only when the right people are responsible for it.
We May Turn Down More Agents Than We Accept
Many talented Realtors express interest in joining The Agency Oklahoma, but interest does not guarantee an invitation.
We may turn down more agents than we ultimately welcome.
That selectivity is not about ego, arrogance or creating exclusivity simply for appearances. It is about protecting something valuable: our culture, reputation, clients and the professionals who have already earned their place here.
Every Realtor who joins The Agency becomes a reflection of every other Realtor within the company. One person’s professionalism can strengthen the entire organization. One person’s poor judgment can damage trust that others have spent decades building.
We take that responsibility seriously.
Production Alone Does Not Earn an Invitation
We have declined opportunities to recruit highly productive agents because their professional reputations, conduct or approaches to working with others did not align with the standards of The Agency Oklahoma.
Sales volume may attract our attention, but it does not guarantee an invitation.
Real estate is a relationship-driven business. An agent’s reputation among clients, cooperating Realtors, lenders, inspectors, title professionals and other industry partners matters.
How someone communicates during a difficult negotiation, handles confidential information, responds when a problem arises and treats others throughout a transaction tells us far more than a production report.
A large sales volume cannot compensate for damaged relationships, questionable integrity, unnecessary conflict or a reputation for placing personal recognition ahead of the client.
Every agent who joins The Agency becomes a reflection of the entire company. We will not compromise the trust our agents have earned, the culture we have built or the reputation of The Agency simply to add another high producer to our roster.
We want successful professionals, but production must be accompanied by character, integrity, collaboration and respect.
At The Agency Oklahoma, it is not enough to be great at selling real estate. You must also be someone other people trust, respect and genuinely want to work with.
Production can open the door. Character determines whether you are invited inside.
Character Comes Before Production
Experience matters. Market knowledge, negotiation skills and contract competency all matter.
But none of those qualities can replace character.
A Realtor may have impressive production numbers and still not be the right fit for The Agency Oklahoma. We are looking for integrity, honesty, humility, accountability, discretion and respect.
We want professionals who tell clients the truth, even when the truth may cost them a listing. We want agents who keep their commitments, protect confidential information, communicate clearly and take responsibility when something goes wrong.
We pay attention to how someone treats assistants, cooperating Realtors, photographers, inspectors, lenders, title representatives and service providers—not only how that person behaves around a multimillion-dollar client.
How someone acts when no one is watching tells us more than an awards graphic ever could.
Real estate skills can continue to improve. Character must already be present.
This Is a Full-Time Profession
The Agency Oklahoma is designed for serious, full-time real estate professionals.
Today’s clients expect responsiveness, availability, market knowledge, technological competency and expert guidance. A transaction can change within minutes. An inspection issue, appraisal concern, multiple-offer situation or relocation deadline cannot always wait until someone finishes another job.
Our clients deserve to know that their Realtor is fully committed to the profession.
For that reason, we are generally not the right brokerage for part-time agents. We are also not structured as a real estate school or introductory training program for newly licensed Realtors.
Our systems, resources and culture are designed to help established professionals elevate their businesses—not teach the fundamentals of contracts, prospecting and transaction management from the beginning.
There may be rare exceptions for an accomplished second-career professional with extraordinary business experience, relationships, work ethic and aptitude. However, the expectation remains the same: anyone joining The Agency Oklahoma must be prepared to compete and serve clients at a high level from the beginning.
A License Is Only the Starting Point
An active Oklahoma real estate license is required, but it is only the beginning.
An Agency Realtor must understand contracts, disclosures, inspections, appraisals, financing, negotiations, timelines and the details that can protect—or expose—a client.
Our agents must possess meaningful knowledge of the markets and communities they serve. They should be able to walk into a complicated situation, remain calm, identify the risks and guide the client with confidence.
The Agency Oklahoma represents everyone from first-time sellers and growing families to investors, executives, professional athletes, entertainers and owners of some of Oklahoma’s most significant properties.
The expectations remain high at every price point.
Luxury is not simply a category of real estate. It is a standard of service.
Whether a home is valued at $250,000 or $10 million, the client deserves preparation, communication, attention and professionalism.
Collaboration Without Ego
The Agency’s culture is built around a powerful idea: when you work with one of us, you work with all of us.
That philosophy requires genuine collaboration.
We want agents who share information, support one another’s listings, provide introductions and celebrate the success of their colleagues. We do not want silos, territorial behavior or individuals who believe another agent’s success somehow diminishes their own.
Our agents compete in the marketplace, but they support one another inside the company.
An Agency Realtor in Beverly Hills, New York, Miami, Dallas, Scottsdale, Mexico or Canada may have the perfect buyer for an Oklahoma property. An Oklahoma client may need a trusted professional in another state or country. Those opportunities are created through relationships and collaboration—not through recruiting downlines.
Joining The Agency means participating in something larger than an individual business.
We Recruit Producers, Not Recruiters
Some brokerage models reward agents for recruiting other agents. That can shift the focus away from clients and transactions and toward building an organization underneath them.
That is not why we are here.
At The Agency Oklahoma, our agents are focused on representing buyers, marketing listings, negotiating contracts, building relationships and closing transactions.
We do not measure an agent’s value by how many people they recruit. We measure it by the quality of their work, their contribution to the culture, the service they provide and the trust they build.
We recruit selectively so our Realtors can focus on what they were licensed to do: sell real estate and serve clients.
Why The Agency Is Not a Cap-Based Brokerage
The Agency is not built around a traditional commission-cap model—and that is intentional.
At a cap-based brokerage, an agent typically pays a portion of each commission to the company until reaching a predetermined annual amount. Once that cap is reached, the agent may retain a larger percentage of subsequent commissions until the cap resets.
That model works well for some companies and some Realtors, particularly those primarily searching for lower operating costs and a place to maintain their licenses.
There is nothing inherently wrong with that structure. It simply is not The Agency’s model.
We do not believe the value of a brokerage relationship should end when an agent reaches an accounting threshold. Our objective is to remain invested in the growth of the agent’s business throughout the entire year—not only until a cap is met.
The Agency provides far more than office space, a logo and transaction processing. Our agents have access to an internationally recognized luxury brand, world-class creative resources, sophisticated marketing systems, strategic public relations, advanced technology, relocation opportunities and a collaborative network spanning many of the world’s most influential real estate markets.
The value can include:
- International brand recognition
- Global agent-to-agent collaboration
- Luxury marketing and creative support
- Public-relations opportunities
- Advanced technology and business systems
- National and international referral relationships
- Relocation resources
- Professional development and networking
- Exposure in highly competitive luxury markets
- A respected brand associated with exceptional properties and service
These resources are designed to help agents grow their production, elevate their average sales price, strengthen their personal brands and compete for opportunities they may not otherwise receive.
A lower-cost brokerage model may allow an agent to retain a larger percentage of the same business. The Agency is designed to help the right agent create a larger, stronger and more valuable business.
That distinction matters.
The most important question should not always be, “What is my cap?” A more valuable question may be, “What can this company help me become?”
Can the brokerage help you win a listing you would not have won on your own? Can it connect you with a qualified buyer in another state or country? Can its brand help you enter a higher price point? Can its marketing, technology, public relations and professional network create opportunities that exceed the cost of the relationship?
For the right agent, one additional luxury listing, major referral or international connection may create more value than the perceived savings of a cap-based model.
The Agency is not intended to be the least expensive place to maintain a real estate license. It is intended to be one of the most valuable platforms from which an ambitious professional can build an exceptional career.
If your primary concern is finding the lowest cap or keeping the greatest percentage of your current production, The Agency may not be the right company for you.
If your goal is to grow your production, improve your marketing, elevate your professional reputation, expand your network and move into the high-end luxury real estate market, The Agency may be exactly where you belong.
We are not selling a cap.
We are providing a platform for growth.
Elevated Marketing Is Expected
The Agency is internationally recognized for branding, storytelling and marketing that look and feel different from traditional real estate advertising.
Our agents must understand that marketing a property requires much more than uploading photographs to the MLS.
Depending on the home, an Agency marketing campaign may include professional architectural photography, cinematic video, drone imagery, custom property websites, compelling editorial descriptions, social media, digital advertising, public relations, database marketing, private outreach and international exposure.
The objective is not simply to advertise rooms and measurements. It is to communicate a lifestyle and explain why a property matters.
Agency Realtors do not need to personally operate every camera, design every advertisement or edit every video. They must, however, recognize quality, embrace technology and remain committed to presenting their clients and properties at an exceptional level.
Our brand standards are not optional. They are part of the promise we make to our clients.
Discretion Is Nonnegotiable
The Agency Oklahoma frequently represents clients and properties requiring privacy.
Professional athletes, entertainers, executives, business owners and other high-profile individuals may require confidential showings, private listings, proof-of-funds requirements, limited disclosure and carefully controlled communication.
Discretion also applies to every client, regardless of public visibility.
Private conversations must remain private. Client information should never become social media content without permission. An agent should never use a client’s identity, home or transaction to elevate a personal brand at the expense of confidentiality.
Trust can take decades to build and seconds to lose.
Anyone representing The Agency must understand the difference between valuable marketing and unnecessary attention.
Client Service Must Remain Personal
Technology is essential to modern real estate, but it cannot replace relationships.
Agency Realtors are expected to answer questions, anticipate problems, communicate honestly and remain present throughout the transaction. Clients should never feel as though they were handed off to a system after signing a listing agreement.
White-glove service means understanding the individual client. It may involve coordinating contractors, preparing a home for photography, managing a complicated relocation, arranging private transportation, previewing properties remotely or finding an off-market opportunity through personal relationships.
The details vary, but the principle remains the same: make the client’s experience better.
What The Agency Provides
For the right professional, The Agency offers an extraordinary platform.
Agents gain access to an internationally recognized luxury brand, a collaborative global network, sophisticated marketing resources, advanced technology, referral relationships, relocation opportunities and public-relations capabilities.
The Agency’s network allows Oklahoma Realtors to build genuine relationships with professionals in many of the world’s most influential real estate markets. Listings can benefit from collaborative exposure, social-media support, agent-to-agent connections and a brand already recognized by luxury consumers.
The Agency has reported more than $88 billion in global sales since its founding, with agents producing at approximately twice the industry average. It has established offices in many of the world’s most desirable markets while maintaining the entrepreneurial energy and personal culture of a boutique organization.
However, these resources only create value when an agent actively uses them.
The Agency can provide the platform, relationships and tools. Each Realtor must bring the work ethic, experience, integrity and ambition.
The Standard Set by Leadership
The Agency Oklahoma is led by Managing Partners Wyatt Poindexter and Wayne Kirby, who have built the company around experience, character, collaboration and high-level performance.
Wyatt brings more than 31 years of Oklahoma real estate experience, over $1 billion in career sales and more than 1,000 completed home sales. He was named the No. 1 Realtor in Oklahoma for sales volume in the 2026 RealTrends Verified rankings and was recently voted Favorite Realtor by readers of the Oklahoma Gazette.
Throughout his career, Wyatt has represented luxury estates, historic homes, ranches, lake properties, new construction, developments, professional athletes, entertainers, executives and families across Oklahoma.
He understands that production creates opportunities, but reputation determines longevity.
The objective is not to recruit agents simply because their numbers look impressive. It is to surround clients and colleagues with people they can trust.
Who Is the Right Fit?
The ideal Agency Oklahoma Realtor is:
- An experienced, full-time real estate professional
- Properly licensed in Oklahoma
- Competent in contracts, negotiations and transaction management
- Knowledgeable about the communities and clients they serve
- Committed to exceptional marketing and presentation
- Comfortable with technology, video and social media
- Collaborative and willing to support fellow agents
- Responsive, organized and accountable
- Protective of client confidentiality
- Honest enough to tell clients what they need to hear
- Ambitious without being arrogant
- Successful in real estate and even more impressive as a person
We are looking for Realtors who want to build meaningful careers, not recruiting organizations.
An Invitation, Not an Open Enrollment
The Agency Oklahoma will continue to grow, but that growth will remain intentional.
We will not compromise our culture to increase our headcount. We will not become a revolving door for part-time agents. We will not bring in every Realtor who asks to join, and we will not lower our standards simply because someone has impressive production.
We want the right people.
Think of The Agency Oklahoma as an exclusive, top-tier community of real estate professionals—agents who are outstanding at their craft but even better in the way they conduct their lives and serve others.
If you are an experienced Oklahoma Realtor with a proven commitment to integrity, collaboration, innovation and exceptional client service, we welcome a confidential conversation.
The Agency will not be the right company for everyone.
For the right person, it can be the place that changes everything.
