His name was Poindexter. Remember Weird Science and the awkward kid named Wyatt? Yeah, that’s me—rolled into one unfortunate combo. While other kids were rocking mullets and BMX bikes, I was fielding daily reminders that Hollywood had basically turned my name into a punchline.
Three Decades of Real Estate (and a Few Wild Stories)
I started my career in 1996, following in the footsteps of my dad, David Poindexter. Over the years, I’ve had the privilege of selling many homes across Oklahoma—ranging from Nichols Hills estates to modern masterpieces in Oklahoma City, vacation homes in Carlton Landing, ranch properties like Hollow Point Ranch, and most recently, luxury retreats on Grand Lake.
Every property has its story, and every client has their journey. Some days it’s helping a family buy their forever home, other days it’s negotiating with a professional athlete who wants privacy and a backyard basketball court. And yes, occasionally, it’s dealing with buyers who ask if the deer in the backyard are included in the sale.
Faith as the Foundation
Through all the ups and downs of this business, my faith has been the steady anchor. Real estate is a world of high stakes and constant change—but Scripture reminds me what matters most.
One of my favorite verses is:
“Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” – 1 Peter 4:10

Life Outside of Real Estate
Real estate is my career, but life is bigger than closings. I love spending time with my wife Angie and our kids, collecting rock ‘n’ roll memorabilia (my office looks part real estate firm, part Hard Rock Café), snowboarding, mountain biking, cars, and catching live concerts.
Cars are another passion—sometimes my listing appointments end up in the garage with the client showing me their Ferrari or me talking about my latest Porsche obsession. It’s all part of building relationships, and relationships are what make this career meaningful.
The Fun Side of This Business
If you can’t laugh in real estate, you won’t last long. Buyers will ask if the hot tub is “self-cleaning,” sellers will insist that avocado-green carpet is “back in style,” and sometimes Realtors request showings just to film TikToks.
It’s a business full of surprises, and I’ve learned to embrace it all with humor and honesty. At the end of the day, the best deals aren’t just closed—they’re remembered for the relationships built along the way.
